If we dont get the GC yearly number increased for India , we should plan to go back,..
How long can i wait to file 485..I am pretty much sure( i wish i am proven wrong) that the Lawsuits are not gonna help us.
They did nothing wrong legally , its a tradition that DOS doesnt change the visa bulletin in a month..ITS NOT A LAW.

Chandu - I understand where you come from with your vast experience here. Like i mentioned i am totally new to this site and i am not JUST opening a thread. WE are going to do it. If making the 70k talk is joining the chapter, so be it. Nothing stops us.

If IV has any plan to remove the unfair 7% quota by either lawsuit and/or lobby, I will donate $ 200 as well.

It is beyond my comprehension why should we scared of initiating a litigation against the US government when it is clearly involved in blatant discrimination. The HSMP rules were challenged successfully by Indian high skilled workers in UK, why can't we do the same over here? I pledge to donate USD 200 for a lawsuit if such an action is initiated.

I actually got this input of contacting congressman to implement this change, from USCIS only(their blog). I will also contact the ones mentioned in your posting. I also request all EB folks affected by this spillover usage not based on priority date, to contact them in addition to their local congressman. No. Tried to call NSC a few times and got diffferent stories on why my fp notice is being dealyed. I gave up trying after my last call 2 weeks ago wherein an IO told me to wait until middle of May.
Mine is like your's - NSC - CSC - NSC. My I-485 receipt number starts with WAC. No FP notice yet. Who knows what they are doing.

Yes, registering with the Police department of the city is a must. All they need (at least in San Jose) is your name, driver's license number etc. They will register it.
You dont need permit for walking on sidewalks. You need permit only if you plan to stop traffic and block streets. None of us want to do that.
Check with your city's police department and find out how to register for march on sidewalks without stopping traffic. I guess that's a lot easier than getting permits to stop traffic etc.
Now, as to rallies other than San Jose rally, if you plan to lead the rally and get the event registered, then please email me at jay@Immigrationvoice.org and I will help you get members. I have list of all members and their states and once you finalize the event, I will email the entire list and point them to you. I will also provide you with material, guidance and Immigration voice's message and talking points should you be approached by a reporter. In fact, its a good idea to tell local papers in your area before hand so that the know to cover the event.
Members in NYC, Washington DC, Chicago, LA etc should have absolutely no problems in finding enough members planning to walk on the street for an hour. I will help you find enough participants in your city, if you send me an email and if you are ready to lead these events.
Nice to see the momentum is picking up. It would be great if all the rallies (in different cities) are planned on the same day to have maximum coverage to get more attention. Who knows we might even get some national media coverage - especially if 3 or 4 rallies succeed.

Per my lawyer,

2. I strongly believe that we should not accept job offers that is not related to the job you originally applied for. My lawyer says it is usually vague and if USCIS determines other wise I will be in trouble. And for the same reason I am hesitant to accept very good employee offer from my current client.
3. Self employment is ok as long as the requirements are met and that is what is I am doing now.
